Open to the Public Event

The incomparable cellist Wade Davis demonstrates movements from J. S. Bach’s Suites for Unaccompanied Cello and speaks about the development of his career for students of the World Youth Orchestra, an educational program of Orchestra Northwest. Students in the World Youth Orchestra are given access to instruments, private instruction, and group instruction in an orchestra setting free of charge. Under the artistic direction of Paula Madrigal, the orchestra has grown to include strings, winds, and brass. Alumni of the World Youth Orchestra have gone on to play as soloists with the Ballard Civic Orchestra and have received numerous grants and scholarships for their pursuit of higher education.
