Ballard Civic Orchestra
The Ballard Civic Orchestra is a professional and volunteer orchestra led by music director Paula Madrigal, which features Latinx music, guest artists and composers while highlighting Latino musical arts and culture. The Ballard Civic Orchestra strives to connect with its culturally diverse audience through music and the arts.
Mariachi Estrellas de Norte
Founded in February 2024, North Seattle Mariachi is a vibrant youth ensemble made up of students from across the Seattle area. A project of Orquesta Northwest, created in partnership with Ingraham High School and Seattle Public Schools, the group provides a welcoming space for young people of all musical backgrounds - including many who are learning mariachi music or an instrument for the very first time.
Soledad Mayorga-Maldonado
Soprano
Soledad Mayorga-Maldonado is a Chilean Soprano with a professional degree is Superior Musical Interpreter in Lyrical Singing and a Bachelor's Degree in Music. She completed her formal studies at the Universidad de Chile and at the Universidad Mayor. For over 10 years she has been a soprano in the Camerata Vocal de la Universidad de Chile, where she has also been a soloist with several national and international conductors, in works by Mozart, Bach and Mendelssohn, among others, together with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Chile.
In her role as a trainer of new generations, she teaches in the Music Pedagogy Career at the University of Valparaiso, where she is in charge of the curricular activity of Voice Education.
As part of her vocal interpretative versatility, she has been invited to participate as a soloist in the Broadway Nights tour with the Chilean Philharmonic Orchestra. Due to her ability to perform in various genres, she has excelled in classical and popular music. It is in the latter field where she has been the vocalist of groups such as SolNegro, Fauno and Manojo. Another facet where she has expressed her vocal and scenic versatility has been her participation in the A Capella music group “FemmeVocal”, with perfomances in Chile, Venezuela and France. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Voice Performance at the University of Washington School of Music.
Maria G. Casey
Founder and principal instructor at The Fat Brush Art Workshop. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Universidad Femenina de Mexico and a Diplome’ de Maitre de Formation de Pebeo in Art from Provence, France.
I ran my own Interior Design business, worked teaching art for a television show and as a Project Art Coordinator in two magazines.
Currently I serve as Art Instructor at schools in the Seattle Archdiocese, teaching a wide variety of creative expressions. I collaborate with the Lynnwood Library, the Everett Community College and WAGRO foundation where I work with underprivileged Latino and Hispanic children, helping them to understand their culture and identity through the arts.
I also have two certifications in Children with Special Needs: Phsysical Disabilities and The Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) by NAMI Eastside (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
