About the Performers
Lucia Flores-Wiseman
Lucia Flores-Wiseman is a Mexican-American singer-songwriter from Seattle, Washington, whose music glows with emotional depth and quiet power. Since 2018, she’s captivated audiences with a sound that blends Indie, Folk, Soul, Jazz, and subtle Rock influences—offering soulful vocals, poetic storytelling, and a rare ability to make every note feel like a conversation with the heart.
Influenced by Brandi Carlile, Amy Winehouse, and Norah Jones, Lucia crafts songs that are both intimate and expansive. Her performances are known for their richness—vocally expressive and emotionally raw—inviting listeners into a space of reflection, healing, and connection.
Lucia gained national attention as the 4th place finalist on Season 27 of NBC’s The Voice, where she earned a coveted four-chair turn in her blind audition and joined Team Adam. Throughout the season, she impressed both viewers and coaches with her versatility, soulful interpretations, and original artistry—often transforming classic songs into emotionally resonant experiences. Her standout performances sparked widespread praise, and her collaboration with Adam Levine in the finale showcased the unique connection she builds with both songs and audiences.
Lucia has also shared the stage with Brandi Carlile and performed at numerous festivals and venues across the country, earning acclaim for her heartfelt delivery and powerful presence. In addition to her live performances, Lucia is an accomplished songwriter and has released several singles that reflect her introspective and emotionally rich style. She is currently working on her debut EP, a project that promises to further reveal her voice, vision, and vulnerability as an artist.
Jovino Santos Neto
Three-time Latin Grammy nominee Jovino Santos Neto, a master pianist, composer and arranger, is one of the most important Brazilian musicians working today. Currently based in Seattle, Washington, he has throughout his career been closely affiliated with the Brazilian master Hermeto Pascoal. He was an integral part of Pascoal's group from 1977 to1992, where he fine-tuned his artistry, performing around the world and co-producing several legendary records.
Jovino’s personal style is a creative blend of energetic grooves, deep harmonies, telepathic improvisation, lyrical melodies and great ensemble playing, always inspired and informed by the colorful richness of Brazilian music. His compositions include samba, choro, baião, xote, forró, marcha and many more styles, rooted in centuries-old musical tradition while pointing to new and adventurous harmonic languages.
Denisse Avena Arevalo
Denisse initiated her piano studies at age 8 under Mary Bowman, in northern Mexico. In 2004, she moved to Slovakia and studied under Dagmar Schmitová and graduated from the School of Music in Spišská Nová Ves. Denisse later enrolled and graduated from Brigham Young University in 2010 with a B.S. degree in Leisure Services Management and a German Language minor, after which she continued her piano studies with Tatyana Ekshteyn in Salt Lake City, Utah. Denisse is now offering private piano lessons in her home studio in Sammamish, Washington. She also enjoys teaching general music lessons at independent schools and is certified in Conversational Solfege 1 & 2 by the Feierabend Association for Music Education.
Bailadores de Bronce
Bailadores de Bronce promotes the beauty and richness of Mexican traditions through music and dance in the Pacific Northwest. We create a bridge of understanding among all people by sharing our culture, preserving our traditions and instilling pride in our youth.
Trio Guadalevín
Trio Guadalevin explores the musical connections between Mexico and the Mediterranean. Together, percussionist Antonio Gomez (Associate Director of Education, Tacoma Arts Live) and multi-instrumentalists Abel Rocha (founding member of Correo Aereo and Los Flacos) and August Denhard (founder of Eurasia Consort, Executive Director of Early Music Northwest) explore and often reimagine the dialogue between Indigenous, European and African cultures, which defines Latin American music and identity. The ensemble takes a fresh, innovative approach to music with deep roots: from the son huasteco and son jarocho of Mexico, to Afro-Oaxacan music, Sephardic Jewish melodies, Spanish fandangos and xicaras, Arab-Andalusian song and Italian ciaccona and tarantella. Instruments featured in their performances include the guitar, oud, theorbo, baroque guitar, vihuela, jarana, quinta huapanguera, harp, bendir, riqq, bombo, pandero cuadrado, pandereta, teponatzli, cajon and more.
CeAtl Tonalli
CeAtl Tonalli is a traditional Aztec Dance group. We have been dancing in the Northwest since 2004. We have been organizing ceremonies, Danza presentations, historical and cultural workshops, artistic projects and community engagement. Members travel to Mexico to maintain our connection to the land, continue learning our language and traditions and to participate in ceremonies. We also bring teachers from Mexico here to Seattle to continue the legacy of sharing teachings and culture with our brothers and sisters of the north. Our group hosts the Yankuik Xihuitl/Mexica New year ceremony each year in March. We believe that we have the power to change ourselves and come together collectively to empower our community for self-determination through our rich history and traditions. We are the dreams of our ancestors.
