MEET OUR EMCEES
Jaime Méndez
Jaime Méndez is not just a journalist, presenter, and influencer—he's a cornerstone of Spanish-language media in Washington State. With an illustrious career spanning nearly three decades, Jaime has been a driving force in keeping the Latinx community informed and empowered.
From his early days in local radio to his tenure as a News Anchor on Univision Seattle's daily news program, Jaime has been a trusted voice for his audience. His dedication and excellence were recognized with an Emmy award in 2020 for his work on "Sounders FC en Acción."
Diana María Oliveros Martínez
Diana María Oliveros Martínez is a dynamic entrepreneur, seasoned diplomat, and global citizen hailing from Mexico City. Her journey in public service began with a notable stint at the United Nations in her native country, laying the foundation for her illustrious career.
In 2017, Diana joined the Mexican Foreign Service, where she quickly made her mark as Consul for Community Affairs at the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle. Over six years, she tirelessly cultivated partnerships with organizations and community leaders within the vibrant Mexican community of Washington State, spearheading initiatives to enhance the lives of migrants and foster inclusivity.
In 2024, Jaime and Diana embarked on a new chapter as independent journalists taking their expertise and passion to social media, founding Se Habla Media.

Sarah Ioannides
Cascade Conducting Artistic Director
Sarah Ioannides has gained recognition as one of the most inspiring and creative conductors of her generation. Now in her eighth season as Music Director of Symphony Tacoma, Sarah is active as a guest conductor internationally she has worked with orchestras such as the Tonkünstler, Orchestre Nationale de Lyon, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, and Seattle Symphony, she has recorded world premieres with the Royal Philharmonic and most recently with the Malmö Symphony and Nordic Chamber Orchestra with a CD of music by Marie Samuelsson released in 2019.

Experience the best of BCO! Principal Ballard Civic Orchestra musicians, including concertmaster Teo Benson, principal 2nd violinist Irina Shpigelman, and principal violist Ilya Shpigelman present a special performance exclusively for this event.
World Youth Orchestra
Appreciate the talent of the future! Our most advanced youth orchestra members, including Santiago Colorado Orrantia and Brienne Izel Guiroz Schug show the results of their hard work, dedication, and unique ability in a performance that will not be soon forgotten.
